Obituary

Gerald Arthur Zimmerman, 82, of Green Lane died on January 19, 2020. He was the husband of the late Norma Jean (Cox) Zimmerman. Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Russell and Iva (Koehler) Zimmerman. Gerald served our country honorably in the Army. He then went to work for the former Penn Elastic Company in North Wales for over 20 years. Gerald retired from Brown Printing in 1997 with over 10 years of service.

Gerald was a very artistic and fun-loving person. He enjoyed making Halloween costumes for his children, taking the family on yearly vacations, including many trips to Happy Acres Campground. He was an avid hunter and went deep sea fishing. Later in life, he joined a bowling league in Allentown, and spent time woodworking, walking his dog, and birdwatching.

Gerald is survived by his children: Thomas Miner of Fort Ann, NY, Michael Miner of Green Lane and formerly of Burlington, VT; Renee, wife of Edward Smith, of Delran, NJ; and Heather, wife of Anthony Calhoun, of Stowe: grandchildren: Kevin, Jason, Jenny, Shannon, Skyann, Justin, Joshua, Daniel, Kathleen, Sarah, Matthew, Ashon, and Daja; 8 great-grandchildren: and siblings: Lloyd Zimmerman, and his wife, Helen, of Boyertown; Larry Zimmerman, and his wife, Beverly, of East Greenville; and Joan, wife of Bill Bartholomew, of Topton. He was pre-deceased by siblings: Geraldine, Mae, Kenneth, Ronald, Reneigh, and Dorothy.

A Celebration of his life will be at 1 PM on Friday, January 24th at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 163 Main St., Pennsburg. To offer online condolences to the family, visit his “Book of Memories” at falkfuneralhomes.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Assn., 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

First of all I want to say sorry to renee. Tommy, Chuck and Heather on the loss of
Their beloved dad. I was jerry's companion for 7 years and I can't think of one particular moment, but I got him to join the primetimers bowling league where we had a lot of fun, taking buster to the park for a walk going to the beach on vacations and going out to eat a lot.

Our memories of Jerry over the past years of his being a part of out bowling league are good ones.
Ron and I got to know the fun loving humerous side of Jerry on our many times bowling with him and the times we shared dinner at various eateries with him. Jerry was a kind, happy man, positive attitude and we enjoyed spending time with him. He will be missed.

I will never forget, that you Uncle Gerry went with me and helped plant Travis's memorial tree.
We chose a Red Dogwood. I love you and will miss you. Your humorous personality and compassionate heart
are just like my husbands . Betty

One time when I was a kid, Gerry actually saved my life. Later in life Gerry and Norma introduced me to Christ. I have a million other stories about Gerry. However, I suspect he is waiting at the pearly gates right now, and I don't want to ruin his integrity. I have lost not only a great uncle, but an even better friend. Bump
