Obituary for Joseph Anthony Capelli Jr.

Joseph Anthony Capelli Jr.
Joseph A. Capelli Jr., 77, of Pennsburg, died surrounded by his family May 15, 2018. He was the loving husband of Judy (Driscoll) Capelli and shared 55 years together. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son to the late Joseph A. and Charlotte B. (Ruppert) Capelli Sr. Joe worked for Eaton Yale and Town Corp., Yarway, GTE, Valenite, and SANVIK as a tool and dye maker, tool designer and salesman. He was a previous member of the Green Lane- Marlboro Lions Club. After retirement, he was a dedicated volunteer at Grandview Hospital. Joseph was beloved by his family for being a patient, and gentle husband, father and grandfather. He loved football, fishing, camping, and going down the shore. His love of taking the scenic routes on weekend drives was a metaphor for his life. It isn’t the destination, it’s the journey.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Christine (Capelli) Kearney and Joseph Michael Capelli both of Philadelphia, and Michael Capelli and his partner Chanon Israelsen who live in Bangkok, Thailand; a grandson: Anthony David Croman of Allentown, his sister Charlotte, wife of Gary Wikiera of Philadelphia, and a large extended family.

A Memorial Mass will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 11am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 654 Hatboro Rd., Richboro, PA 18954. All are welcome to visit with the family at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Lehigh Valley Hospice.
