Obituary for Frances Elizabeth Parker (Bretz)

Frances Elizabeth  Parker (Bretz)
Frances E. (Bretz) Parker, 93, of Hellertown, died January 17, 2017. She was the widow of Reginald Parker who died in 1977. Born in Cementon, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Julia (Staschinski) Bretz. She served her country honorably as an Army Nurse during WW II. Following that, she worked as a nurse for St. Luke’s Hospital in Ft. Hill for many years. She then became a Nurse Instructor at St. Luke’s School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Hellertown; a member of the Hellertown Area Women’s Club; and a founding member of the Hellertown Area Library. Fran was also a former member of the Hellertown Borough Zoning Board.
Survivors: Sons: Arthur and his wife Barbara, of University Park, MD, and Jack and his wife Ember, of Hellertown; Daughters: Patricia, wife of Bruce Knoll, of Bethlehem, and Sarah, wife of Martin Letscher, of Canfield, OH; and Grandchildren: Dawn, Jesse, Dale, Jacque, Alex, Alyson, Bryan, Rachael, and Andrew; and a Great-Grandchild: Madison Knoll. She was predeceased by a daughter Regina Parker-Slawnikowski who died in 2007 and fourteen siblings.
Services: Memorial Mass 11 AM, Friday, St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1408 Easton Rd., Hellertown, PA 18055. All are invited to greet the family from 10:30 until Mass begins. Interment will be held in Hellertown Union Cemetery.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hellertown Area Library, 409 Constitution Ave, Hellertown, PA 18055. Her arrangements have been entrusted to Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Hellertown. Visit her “Book of Memories” at falkfuneralhomes.com.
