Obituary for William Francis "Bill" Pilgermayer Sr.

William Francis Pilgermayer Sr., 79, of Perkiomenville, passed away April 25, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Sigrid Elizabeth (Nebel) Pilgermayer. Born in Northeast Philadelphia, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth (Breuning) Pilgermayer. Bill was a Field Service Engineer for 40 years for the Beckman Instruments Co. in Philadelphia before retiring in 2004. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Bill was also a member of the Automated Musical Instruments Collectors Assn. for many years. He was lovingly known as “Pa” by all his grandchildren. This nickname was quickly adopted by family and friends. Some of his favorite pastimes were listening to music, fishing in local creeks & lakes and of course tending to his vegetable garden where he proudly grew many varieties of tomatoes. Every March for the past 35 years he and Sig traveled to their “home away from home” to the island of Freeport in the Bahamas. His unique sense of humor and quick wit will be sorely missed by all.

Surviving with his wife, are children: Susan M. McAuliff (James), of Hatfield; William F. Pilgermayer Jr. (Tamara), of Palm; and Jennifer L. Plessl, of Pennsburg; grandchildren: Matthew, Loren, Emily, Jessica, Abigail, Ryan, Jakob, and Olivia; and siblings: Michael (Denise) Pilgermayer, of Kunkletown; Angela Kenney, of Gilbertsville; and Patricia Pilgermayer, of Montgomeryville. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Thomas.

Memorial Services will be Private. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to “Animals in Distress”, P.O.
