William Francis Pilgermayer Sr., 79, of Perkiomenville, passed away April 25, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Sigrid Elizabeth (Nebel) Pilgermayer. Born in Northeast Philadelphia, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth (Breuning) Pilgermayer. Bill was a Field Service Engineer for 40 years for the Beckman Instruments Co. in Philadelphia before retiring in 2004. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Bill was also a member of the Automated Musical Instruments Collectors Assn. for many years. He was lovingly known as “Pa” by all his grandchildren. This nickname was quickly adopted by family and friends. Some of his favorite pastimes were listening to music, fishing in local creeks & lakes and of course tending to his vegetable garden where he proudly grew many varieties of tomatoes. Every March for the past 35 years he and Sig traveled to their “home away from home” to the island of Freeport in the Bahamas. His unique sense of humor and quick wit will be sorely missed by all.

Surviving with his wife, are children: Susan M. McAuliff (James), of Hatfield; William F. Pilgermayer Jr. (Tamara), of Palm; and Jennifer L. Plessl, of Pennsburg; grandchildren: Matthew, Loren, Emily, Jessica, Abigail, Ryan, Jakob, and Olivia; and siblings: Michael (Denise) Pilgermayer, of Kunkletown; Angela Kenney, of Gilbertsville; and Patricia Pilgermayer, of Montgomeryville. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Thomas.

Memorial Services will be Private. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to “Animals in Distress”, P.O. Box 609, Coopersburg, PA 18036 (https://animalsindistresspa.org/) To offer condolences, please visit his ‘Book of Memories” at falkfuneralhomes.com.

William "Bill" Pilgermayer, was a most beloved favorite guest of the Ocean Reef Resort, affectionately called "the Mayer" for his morning walks with his coffee and cigar around the Ocean Reef Property saying good morning to all the staff and making sure they were at work, we often told him we were going to give him an office key and a time card because of the amount of time he spent with the staff at at work, this always made him laugh, followed by, "hey have I told you the toilet paper joke ?' and no matter how many times we had heard it we would one again laugh as if it was the first time. Another of my favorite names Bill was also know as was "Sugar Daddy" this one he and I shared because at our Monday Madness resort parties I was known as "Sugar" and Bill was always my "Sugar Daddy" this made people laugh and was our running joke for years as he brought the sugar daddy candy an laid it on my desk each year. He will forever be in our hearts ...... we will miss seeing you Mr. "P". Our thoughts and Prayers are with Siggy and the family as they mourn. "Rest in Peace".
