Thomas G. Hefele, born on December 5, 1935, age 83, of Zionsville, Pa., after enduring two major strokes, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving and beloved family on Friday, October 11, 2019. A son of the late Charles and Anna (Scheers) Hefele, he grew up in Catasauqua, Pa., and was raised in the Catholic faith. After serving his country honorably in the Army National Guard, Tom began his business career at Willow Grove Plumbing and Heating in Quakertown, Pa. He then established, owned and operated Coopersburg Plumbing and Heating Supply successfully for many years. Following that, he went onto work as the primary independent sales consultant for Mayer's Well Drilling in Quakertown, Pa. He finally retired at a young 80 years of age. Tom was a member of the Saucon Lodge of Free & Accepted Mason's #469 in Coopersburg, Pa. and a member of Rajah Shrine in Reading, Pa.

Competitive trap shooting was always Tom's passion. As an expert marksman, he earned countless awards. He became renowned in this challenging sport both nationally and internationally. Tom was a lifetime member of the American Trapshooting Association and the Pennsylvania State Shotgunning Association. He also belonged to the Rural Sportsman Association in Trexlertown, Pa., the North End Gun Club and the Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club, both in New Tripoli, Pa.

Tom Hefele was a loving, generous man, and always will be a dearly loved father, friend, mentor, and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Annae' Hefele and her husband Mark Knipe of Macungie, Pa. and his son, Daniel Hefele and his wife Ronja of Zionsville, Pa., as well as his three grandchildren: Elizabeth, Nathan, and Alex. He was pre-deceased by his first wife Caroline Hefele and his first daughter, Marnie Hefele both who passed in 2010. Dear Dad, last Christmas you presided over our mini wedding (after 28 years we finally listened to you!) It was a blessing to have you share this special occasion with us. You looked so handsome and we will cherish this memory forever. We love you always, Mark & Annae'

To my beloved father, my heart is so broken that I cannot hear your voice (especially since we spoke on the phone at least twice a day), hug you or kiss you, but I know that you have returned home to God, to your Marnie and to our mother Caroline (your Carol). Nonetheless, I feel your presence Daddy and know you are always with me. I love you dearly and miss you so much! Your daughter, Annae' XO

Dad, it's impossible for me to "share my most beloved memory," because having you as a father encompassed the good, bad and middle ground - I cherish them all. You're a part of me and I'm proud to be your son. I'll forever miss you.

My memories of Tom are ones of support and adventure. Working side by side with Tom and traveling to shoots all over the world were some of the best memories I have. He was always so supportive of my showing dogs and shooting. Right up until the end he would give me those little pointers that you can only learn from one of the local legends of trapshooting. My two Perazzi shotguns came from Tom. I will be forever grateful to have known him. My heartfelt condolences to his family. I love you all.
I'm sitting here having a Gin & Tonic (our drink) in your memory. Here's to you Hef...I love you.

Tom I missed you today as I planned our Friday night dinner. I’m making steak and green beans and it made me sad to think you will not come over tonight to steal a piece out of the pot. I miss the little things. Especially meal times.
