Obituary for Robert Owen Charles

Robert Owen Charles, 55, of Macungie, passed away at home on September 18, 2019. Born in Sellersville, he was a son of Paul R. Charles, of Wellsboro, and the late Nancy (Wolfinger) Charles. Bob was a self-employed flooring installer for many years before becoming ill. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, and enjoyed the outdoors with his family and friends. He was a long-time member of Stony Creek Lodge. He was very proud to mentor his grandson, Kiel in all of these sports, as well as share in fishing on their boat, the S.S. Kiel. He hunted for elk in Colorado, antelope and mule deer in Montana, and deer in the Adirondacks, as well as New Brunswick and North Carolina. He trapped a bobcat at his Dad’s in Wellsboro and enjoyed fishing in Canada.

He is survived by Rebecca I. Stahl, and her son, Christopher T. Smith; grandchildren: Tiernan, Rhiannon, Kiel, and Zaiden; a brother, Michael L. Charles, of Colorado; and uncles: Larry (Marjorie) Wolfinger, of Sellersville; Ralph Wolfinger, of Walnutville, PA; and John (Esther) Hoover, of Spinnerstown. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Randal.

Services will be private. At his request, his brother Mike will scatter his ashes at the Laramie River Valley in Colorado.
