On Saturday September 26, 2020 Patricia Ursula Douma laid down her burdens for the last time.
Patricia was born February 26, 1962 to William and Ursula (Reislinger) Werner at a military hospital in Lanstul, Germany. A military child, she grew up on military bases all over the United States and Germany. She married young and had her first daughter Brandy Kelshaw (nee Eads) in Germany. She came to America in the 80’s and forged a life for herself. She met her second husband of 29 years a few years later and soon gave birth to her second daughter Erin.
Diagnosed with cancer in 2002, she was given less than a year to live. She expressed an undeniable desire to see her daughter Erin graduate from Elementary school. She endured surgery and treatments, and achieved that goal. Soon after she was diagnosed with Brain cancer, given less than a year to live. She again forwarded desire to see her daughter graduate High school. Again enduring treatments and radiation therapy, she watched her daughter graduate first from High school and eventually from college.
Patty and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively since her fortunately inaccurate diagnoses and have been to many states and countries over the decades. Patty will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her. Donations can be made in her name to the American Lung Association.
Service will at the Falk Funeral Home in Hellertown, PA on Saturday, October 3rd, gathering at 2:00 PM, service at 3:00 PM. To leave online condolences, please visit her “Book of Memories” at falkfuneralhomes.com
