Mary Jane Weldner, 89, of Pennsburg, passed away November 16, 2021. She was the widow of Donald R. Weldner, who passed in 1965. Born in Red Hill, she was a daughter of the late Forrest F. and Catherine Margaret (McLean) Hillegass. Mary Jane was a 1950 graduate of East Greenville High School. She then worked at the former American Olean Tile Co, Lansdale, where she met her husband. Throughout her life, she worked as a secretary, first for Marlborough Township, and then later for the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. She also served as a cafeteria supervisor for the Upper Perkiomen High School.
Mary Jane was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, where she was a two term Consistory member and also served on the Altar Guild and the Outdoor Ministries committee. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, #318, Red Hill for 63 years.
Surviving are children: Donald F. Weldner, of Pennsburg, and Debra, wife of Bruce Beck, of Spring Mount; and grandchildren: Brandon and Danielle Beck. She was pre-deceased by her sisters: Catherine Barndt, and Elizabeth ‘Betty” Kulp.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, Nov. 24th at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville. A viewing will be from 10-11 AM at the church. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hill.
