Obituary for Mary Jane Herrmann (Davis)

Mary Jane Herrmann, 92, of Pennsburg, passed away January 5, 2020 peacefully with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Heinz Herrmann. Born in Palm, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Minnie (Hoffman) Davis. Mary was active in our community for many years. She was a high school majorette with her twin sister, Catherine. She was a past Matron of the Perkiomen Chapter #318, Order of the Eastern Star and a member of The Order of the Amaranth. She was a past president of the Perkiomen Valley Women’s Club. Mary was a member of the former Upper Perkiomen Soroptimist Club and the former Upper Perk Pool Auxiliary where she volunteered to raise money with charity balls and water shows. She volunteered with Boyertown on Stage, the UPHS Band Boosters Show, Grand View Hospital, the Community Thrift Shop, the Schwenkfelder Heritage Center and as a teacher at Palm Schwenkfelder Church vacation bible school. She and Heinz supported a Rotary Exchange Student, Vivianna Miller, whom they sponsored and welcomed her back after returning to the States to become a citizen and registered nurse. Mary was a member of the Palm Schwenkfelder Church. She founded Stephanie’s Bridal Shop in 1977. Mary loved all beautiful things.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her daughters: Linda, wife of William Gebert of Pennsburg; Rebecca, wife of Ronald Mikanowicz of Red Hill; her grandchildren: Adam, Stephanie, Aimee, Jennifer, Bradley and Steven; and her great-grandchildren: Chad, Cody, Jacob, Alexis, Nathalie, Remy, Maggie, and Maleah. She is preceded in death by a son, Robert Herrmann, her twin sister, Catherine Renninger and a brother, Ray Davis.

According to her wishes, services will be private.
