Obituary for Lawrence "Diehly" Diehl

Lawrence Martin "Diehly" Diehl, of Red Hill, and formerly of Bally, passed away on his 88th birthday-April 18, 2022. He was the husband of the late Shirley (Trout) Diehl. Born in East Greenville, he was the son of the late Russell C. and Edna (Weller) Diehl. Diehly was a 1952 graduate of Pennsburg High School and served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War. He and his father owned and operated an auto maintenance garage in Red Hill. He moved the business to 8th Street in Pennsburg, where he operated the business for over 30 years into the late 1980’s. He then worked at Red Hill Ford until he retired in the late 2000’s. Lawrence was a member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ, The VFW, Post # 5954, Red Hill; the American Legion, Post # 184, Palm; the Perkiomen Lodge #595, F.& A.M., Red Hill; and was a Rawdsman of the Grundsow Lodge #7, East Greenville. He loved cars, racing, and traveling.

Surviving is a daughter: Patricia, wife of David Koons of East Greenville; two grandchildren: Justine, wife of Christopher Maag, and Melissa Koons and her companion, Christopher Holahan; great granddaughters: Claire, Violet, and Alison Maag; a sister: Dorothy Shipe of Pennsburg; and his companion: Betty Schuler of Red Hill.

All are invited to a viewing on Friday, April 22nd from 9-11 AM at the Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg with a Funeral Service at 11 AM. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Pennsburg UCC Cemetery with full military honors.
