Obituary for Joseph James "Joe" McKeown

Joseph “Joe” J. McKeown, 62, of Palm PA passed away on Monday, March 7th, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Talarico) McKeown. Joe served his country in the Marine Corp. Until becoming ill, he worked as a master plumber. Joe was an active member of The American Legion Post 234, Souderton PA, The Sellersville Moose Lodge 1539, Telford VFW post 5308, and he was also heavily involved with The American Legion Post 184, East Greenville “Palm” PA. Until his illness, Joe was a proud member of The American Legion Riders of Souderton, PA. Joe enjoyed being a Road Captain for many years, of which his most memorable event being the erection of the 9/11 memorial in Palm, Pa. He participated in many charity events over the years welcoming home vets, and Toys for Tots, and enjoyed telling everyone how to cook things his way. Joe enjoyed watching old westerns on television and had a sense of humor that could keep you on your toes. Joe was the kind of guy who would give anyone the shirt off his back and expect nothing in return. Joe’s beloved cat Mia kept him company throughout the duration of his illness and made him laugh when things got tough. Joe had a love for his children that knew no bounds. He will be immensely missed.

Joe is survived by his children: Nicole Barratt and her husband, Michael of Quakertown, and their children: Michelle and Sophia, Crystal McKeown of Doylestown and her children, Savannah and Caelyn, Joseph McKeown and his wife Amber of Hollywood, FL, Cassandra Villanti and her wife, Sabrina of Bensalem; siblings: Thomas and his wife, Diane, Mary Carmean and her husband, Robert, Edward and his wife, Mary Anne, Marge and her husband, Rich Vile; Grace and her husband, Scott Shemenski; Terri McKeown, the mother of his children, and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Anne McKeown and her husband Leon Llewellyn.

Joe will be laid to rest at 9:00 am, on Monday, March 14th, 2022, in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940. Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg is handling his arrangements. Visit his "Book of Memories" at falkfuneralhomes.com.
