Obituary for Joseph John McGillen
Joseph J. McGillen, 53, of Pennsburg, died suddenly from injuries sustained in a fall on July 22, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte (Isley) McGillen. They celebrated 23 years of marriage in June. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John J. and Lynne M. (Smichowski) McGillen. He was a foreman in the Heating Department for the School District of Philadelphia and had worked in the district for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife and his children: Joseph Jr., Charles, Christian, Gabriel, and Evan; his siblings; his brother Michael and his wife Theresa of Bensalem, his brother Patrick of Warrington, and his sister Lynne, wife of Mark Scamardi of Red Hill.
A Celebration of Joe’s life will be held in the future. However, the family wishes to thank everyone who has reached out to help them in this difficult time. The support has been overwhelming.
