John Thomas Connelly, 83, of Red Hill, passed away December 17, 2020. He was the husband of the late Elsie (DiGregorio) Connelly, who passed in 2012. Born in Philadelphia, John was a son of the late John & Helen (Dwyer) Connelly.
John served in the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1955-58. He was a tool and die maker by trade and was the owner of Connelly Machine & Tool Company from 1977 to 2010. He served as a mentor for students in the Machine & Tool making program at the Western Center for Vocational Education. Following his retirement, John was a school bus driver, enjoying both the driving and the school students he met. Most recently, he was a driver for National Auto Parts. John was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg, where he had coached CYO baseball many years ago. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and was Third Degree Council #6614 in East Greenville and Fourth Degree Member Council #3046 in Stowe. He was a member of the Green Lane Lions Club, the Upper Perkiomen Sportsmen's Association, and a former member of the Rotary in East Greenville.
Surviving are children: Catherine, wife of Jeffrey L. Wieand Sr., of Pottstown; John T. Connelly, and his wife Marcy, of Statesville, NC; Michael P. Connelly, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Pottstown; and Matthew T. Connelly, and his wife Rebecca, of Quakertown; sister Dolores Connelly Amerman, Horsham, PA; brothers: James Connelly, and his wife Yvonne, of Toms River, NJ; and Joseph P. Connelly, and his wife, Nancy, of Freemansburg, VA; grandchildren: Jeffrey, Maegan, Christine, John, Kayla, Taylor, Logan, & Harper; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Mary Ann Connelly.
A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 12pm. Burial will be private at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Saint Philip Neri Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg. Pa.
