Janice S. McCracken Erkes, 57, of Harleysville, passed away July 21, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Brian S. Erkes. They celebrated 34 years of marriage last October. Born in Clearfield, PA, she was a daughter of Susan Jane (Tornatore) McCracken Hendricks, of Norristown, and the late Franklin D. McCracken. Jan was a graduate of Shikellany High School in Sunbury, PA. She holds a BA in French from Millersville University and an MBA from DeSales University. She was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for QNB Bank. Jan was a member of the Board of Directors of the Bucks County Opportunity Council, Quakertown, and Pearl S. Buck International in Perkasie. She was a former member of the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County. Jan was an avid reader and was fluent in French. She enjoyed many outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and tennis. She also enjoyed walking and running on the Perkiomen Trail and traveling with her family.
Surviving with her husband and mother, are her children: Dr. Frank Erkes and his wife, Dr. Ashley Erkes of New York City, and Caroline S. Erkes, RN, of Harleysville; her siblings: Gregory McCracken, and his wife, Joyce of Prague, Czech Republic, Mary McCracken, of Wayne, Diane McCracken, of Norristown, Joseph McCracken, of Northumberland, Kathleen, wife of George Lincoln, of Lewisburg, Karen, wife of Robert Rabenold, of Emmaus, and Daniel McCracken, of Malvern; and nieces & nephews: Ian, Samuel, Meghan, Daniel, Nathan, Melissa, Matthew, Jessica, Sarah, Chelsea and Corey. She was pre-deceased by a son, Benjamin.
All are invited to gather with her family from 9-11 AM on Thursday, July 28, at Falk Funeral Homes, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg, PA 18073. A Celebration of Life service will follow the visitation at 11 AM. She will be laid to rest privately.
