Janet L. Wolfe, beloved mom, 66, recently of Nazareth, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital with her two daughters and granddaughter by her side on February 13, 2021. Born and raised in the Hellertown area, she was a daughter of George and Katherine (Lorrah) Wolfe. She was a graduate of Saucon Valley High School. Janet was an executive housekeeper for many families in the Lehigh Valley area.
She was a shepherd to the animals, and she was strong willed- Her own boss. Janet could be unwavering, but her heart was always in the right place. She loved all animals and devoted her life's work to them. She trapped, spayed/neutered many and kept them fed. From teaching others how to raise kittens to being a foster failure multiple times, Janet put the animals' needs before her own.... always. She acquired strong recognition when she began caring for a colony of cats known as "The Banana Factory Cats" and she built a solid reputation with local animal organizations. She continued her journey with TNR and Animal Welfare. Janet has been told throughout her life that she will be one of God's shepherds in the paradise world....and that is a BIG accomplishment.
Janet could be seen anywhere anytime making sure no animal that crossed her path went hungry, unsheltered, or without love......that was momma Wolfe.
Mom's favorite color was pink. She had a green thumb, brought plants back to life and could make any house into a home with her personal touches, yes, that was momma Wolfe.
Janet's daughters and family are crushed as mom parted this world way too soon.
Surviving are her daughters: Christine Wolfe of Nazareth, and Kari, wife of Greg Hartman of Summit Hill; her granddaughter, Cortnee Hartman; and her brother, Robert, and his wife Nancy of Hellertown. Janet was predeceased by her siblings, Edward and Katherine.
Due to the current health crisis, her services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to either: Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, bestfriends.org; Dallas Dog Rescue Rehab Reform, dallasdogrrr.org; Carbon County Friends of Animals, ccfoa.info; No Kill Lehigh Valley, nokilllv.org; The Center for Animal Health & Welfare, healthyanimalcenter.org; or an animal shelter or rescue organization of your choice. M❤️M, I am still left here empty, sad, in disbelief......angry at times, and in deep emotional pain since you left. It was never supposed to happen that way. I didn't see it coming. Me and Kari were with you every step of your journey and you fought like h*ll through it all. You were supposed to make it home. I wanted you to enjoy your beautiful home, property, wildlife, and the serenity the country has to offer. We weren't ready to let go but your body had enough.
My only comfort is knowing I will see you again in the paradise when Jehovah God rules the earth. It is then you will no longer have sickness or pain.....you will see clearly and be able to walk as tall as you did in youth.
In this present life I will continue to miss saying, "Mom, you want a milkshake?" and you always said, "ill no". Always made me laugh. I miss bringing you home goodies.....you know how you loved sweets. I miss making you a cup of tea in the morning accompanied by some tasty treat. You would always say, I'll do my chores after the Wendy Williams show. And I would say, mom, you don't have any chores, lol, but I knew what you meant. I always appreciated your help.
I don't like it one bit that you're gone and I won't get use to not having your presence around. I miss you, the animals miss you, family misses you. I'm sorry mom.
Your wings were ready but my heart was not.
Love you mom.
