James Mahaletz, 86, of Bethlehem, passed away January 31, 2022 at home. He was the husband of the late JoHelen (Clayton) Mahaletz. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Rybak) Mihulec. James served his country honorably in the Air Force during the Korean War. When he returned, he was employed as a machinist in the Central Tool Shop of the former Bethlehem Steel for 30 years, retiring in 1993. James was a member of the American Legion, Post #397, Hellertown; and the 7th Bomb Wing, B-36 Assn.
Surviving are daughters: Kimberlee, wife of Robert Wagner, of Bethlehem, Jill Mahaletz, of Emmaus, Robin Kressler, of Allentown, Kippi Baker, of Whitehall, and Kristi Tibensky, of Bethlehem; a sister, Helen Clay, of Hellertown; and 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Lindsey Wagner.
Military Services will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on May 10, 2022 at 1 PM , after which he will be interred with his wife within the Cemetery.
