Ferne Fite, who turned 100 last July, of Pennsburg, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2021. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Fite who died in 1985. Born in Pennsburg, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Elsie (Albitz) Pennypacker. She worked as a supervisor at Plummer Precision Optics for many years before retiring at age 76. Ferne was a faithful member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ. She enjoyed the simple things in life, and she was beloved by everyone, and friends were amazed by her charisma and positive attitude.

Surviving is her daughter-in-law, Celena Landis; and Celena’s nieces, Rebekah and Gabrielle Delaney; and great niece and nephew, Kelsi and Casey Foraker. She was predeceased by her son Drew Landis who died in 2009; and her brother, Augustus H. Pennypacker and his wife Dolores.

All are invited to gather with the family from 10 – 11 am on Thursday with a Memorial Service at 11 am at Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 163 Main St, Pennsburg, PA 18073. She will be laid to rest with her husband in St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery in Pennsburg.
