I only knew her for a short time. I loved Grandmom Benner she was strong, funny and independent and she was my Grandmom too. She was always teaching me something, especially in the kitchen. I will miss our Sundays together. I will forever miss her. Rest in peace.

My Grandmom was a truly unique person; a "Pip." She was hard-working, and showed her love through actions, not sentiments. She was generous and unassuming, seemed to have a realistic view of life, and had a deep commitment to persevering. She baked delicious cookies, had a team of chihuahuas, and was quite crafty. I am grateful for all she did for me and my family. She did what she believed was right, and never seemed to look for what she got in return. I am sure she influenced my own work-ethic, and sense of doing what is right, giving unconditionally, and being kind. Thank you, Grandmom. I love you. Rest in peace.

I found out yesterday while at work that Grand Mom Benner passed away. It wasn't the best place to go thru the range of emotions I experienced. Luckily I work in my own space so no one but my boss seen me. I cried for so many things..., till I wanted to shift my thoughts to all the reasons I loved and respected my Grandmother. I thought about how selfless she was when we were just kids. She would bring us clothes, food and well anything that would help make our lives easier. I remember that yellow station wagon she had, and how fast she drove... I remember a thanksgiving were there were dandelions, (yellow weed flowers) on the table in a salad.... I remember Grand mom always with a pack of little dogs around her.... A mean goose named "Satan"... Her basement in Perkiomenville that always amazed me, it was a huge maze and she knew where everything was. Kara and I would visit her every other Sunday for the last 4+ years and I'm really glad we had that time to really get to know her. She would write her child hood memories and we would copy and save them to preserve her experiences . Grand mom loved Kara, seemed like her best friend at times, Kara loved her too. Grand Mom did not have an easy life, I can tell you she was a strong woman, She loved her family and her dogs even more. It took me a long time to see her for who she truly is, I'm just grateful I did. I Love her..
