This is a shock. Nancy and I are so sorry to hear this Jeanie.

I first met Ernie in high school and we were friends since. I haven't seen him in person since the 50th Bonner reunion in 2014, but I always looked forward to reading the jokes he sent to my email. We spent a lot of time hunting and fishing and working on projects around each others houses.

We were stunned when we herd the news about Ernie's passing. Although I only had the pleasure of his company on few occasions, I found him to be warm and giving. He and my father were cousins and in recent years had become very close.
Ernie was very supportive when my father passed away and I will always remember that. We wish his family and loved ones our thoughts, prayers and condolences.

I have known Cookie as we called him growing up since I was a little kid. We grew up together in Philadelphia while our parents were best friends. Cookie aka Ernie was a good loving person and would do anything for you. Growing up Cookie loved to play jokes on those living in the neighborhood but we always had fun and enjoyed ourselves. Since Cookie had the largest yard, we always played there. After his parents passed, we lost touch but then got in touch when I realized that his grandmother's house was only 10 minutes from where I lived in West Chester. There are so many stories that I could share from years ago and even now.
You will be missed with your crazy comments and good fun jokes that you always told. My sympathy goes to Jeanne and the rest of the family.
Cookie you are in peace now. Someday we will see each other again my friend.

Please accept my condolences to the family. I was a good friend of Ernies, we served together in the PaANG for a long time, and we traveled to many places together, I have a lot of great memories with him, he was quite the character. I reflect on his love of his family, and the love of his country. He often spoke about his time with the Scouts, and how he loved what they stood for, and the great men that came from Scouting. I will remember him, and his laughter always. RIP Bud.

We were so sorry to hear about Ernie's passing. He always had the best stories and was a good friend and neighbor. He really loved working with the Scouts and I know he made a difference in so many of those young boys lives. That legacy will carry on for so many of them. He will be missed greatly. ❤️
