Obituary for Ephraim E. "Eph" Long

Ephraim E. Long, 92, of Frederick Living and formerly of Pennsburg passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22nd, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Zepp) Long. They celebrated 70 years of marriage last November. Born in Sumneytown, PA, he was a son of the late Ephraim and Florence (Bishop) Long. Ephraim served our country honorably in the Army during the Korean War. He was a supervisor at Ametek/US Gauge for 35 years before retiring in 1992. He was a longtime member of Pennsburg UCC where he served as a member and was a past president of consistory, taught Sunday school for many years, volunteered for all church events, and served on the cemetery committee. He also served as a member of the Pennsburg Borough Council between 1970 and 1979. He volunteered as a driver for Meals on Wheels and the Red Cross and volunteered at the Valley Thrift Shop. Ephraim was a Boy Scout Leader in Pennsburg for many years as well as member of American Legion, Post #184 in Palm. He was also a former Raudsman for Grundsow Lodge #7 in East Greenville.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his son: Thomas E. Long and his wife Tammy, of Zionsville; a son-in-law, William McQuiggan of Elizabethtown, PA; a brother, Ronald and his wife Shirley of Harleysville; grandchildren: Scott and his wife Jamie, Eric and his wife Kristina, Steven and his wife Emily, Kelly, wife of John Kennelly and Adrienne, wife of Rick Rivas; great grandchildren: Sophie, Margo, Jackson, Miles, Harper, Carter, Teagan, Lucy, and Charlie; and sisters-in-law Hope Long of Sumneytown and Grace Long of Red Hill. He was predeceased by a daughter who died at birth, and a daughter, Dr. Carol McQuiggan who passed four years ago; and his siblings: LeRoy and Richard Long, and Ella Mae Underkoffler and her husband Marvin.
All are invited to gather at the Falk Funeral Home from 10-11 am on Friday with a Celebration of his Life at 11 am. He will be laid to rest in Pennsburg UCC Cemetery.
