Obituary for Elizabeth P. Coughlin (Lapsley)

Elizabeth “Betty” P. Coughlin, 82, of Barto, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospice House in Bethlehem, PA. She was the beloved wife of Edward Coughlin for 64 years. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter to the late Charles and Elizabeth Pauline Ida (Winkler) Lapsley. Betty drove a bus for the Upper Perkiomen School District. She was a devoted member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Bally. She enjoyed watching her Philly sports teams on TV, reading People Magazine, and most of all, she loved playing the slot machines at the casinos. She had the best laugh and just loved being around people.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her children: Michael Coughlin, and his wife Lori of Barto, Matthew Coughlin, Maureen Coughlin, and her wife Judy Haegele whom all reside in Florida, Melissa Ortt, and her husband Larry of Barto, and Christopher Coughlin, and his wife Ashley, of Georgia; 18 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren; a sister: Dorothy Habina, of Florida. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ray and a sister, Margaret Chapman.

A funeral mass will be Friday, February 21, 2020, at Most Blessed Sacrament, 610 Pine St, Bally, PA 19503 at 11AM, all are welcome to visit beginning at 10AM. Interment will be at Most Blessed Sacrament Cemetery, Bally, PA.
