Obituary for Doris Oelschlager (Lynch)

Doris J. Oelschlager, 90, formerly of Red Hill and Green Lane, passed away peacefully on March 24th, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late LeRoy S. Oelschlager who died in 2013. Born in Norristown, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Goldie (Hawkins) Lynch. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center for over 45 years. Doris and LeRoy owned and operated the Valley Cab Company for more than three decades. Doris was an active member of Advent Lutheran Church in Harleysville. In 1978, she was a founding member and past president of the Upper Perkiomen Valley Lioness Club which later merged with the Green Lane Marlboro Lioness Club. From Lions International she received the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. She was also a member of the Upper Perkiomen Order of Eastern Star as well as a volunteer for many charitable organizations including the March of Dimes and Community Nurse Association in the Upper Perkiomen Valley.

She is survived by a son: Richard and his wife Denise of Norristown, and daughters: Judith, wife of David Formalarie of Annandale, NJ, Patricia, wife of Suppawat “Toy” Tachayapong of Clover, SC, and Janet, wife of John Pescatore of Lawrence, NY; grandchildren: Nathan (Regina) Day, Russell (Stacey) Oelschlager Jr., Patricia Oelschlager, Timothy (Stephanie) Tachayapong, Rachel (Mark) Holzhauer, Kathryn Fleury, Michelle (Pedro) Alberto, Annika Oelschlager, and Zachary Oelschlager; and step-grandchildren DJ (Stephanie) Formalarie and Stephen (Kaitlyn) Formalarie; and great grandchildren: Zachary Greer, Russell Oelschlager, Molliwon Holzhauer and Olivia Holzhauer, a brother Ben Lynch, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons L. Mark (Anna) Oelschlager and Russell (Barbara) Oelschlager and step-granddaughter Angela Yount.

All are invited to gather for a viewing from 6 – 8 PM, on Thursday, March 28th, at the Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg and 10 AM – 12 PM, with services at 12 PM on Friday, March 29th at Advent Lutheran Church, 470 Landis Rd, Harleysville, PA 19438. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Old Goshenhoppen Church Cemetery in Woxall. A Celebration of her Life will be held in the church sanctuary immediately following internment.
