Obituary for Catherine Sloyer (Dietz)

Catherine Sloyer, 81, of Pennsburg passed away December 9, 2022, while vacationing in Florida. She was the widow of William J. Sloyer. Born in Quakertown, she was a daughter of the late William and Estella (Frank) Dietz. She was the owner of the former Pennsburg Potpourri, a craft consignment store, and attended craft shows in the 1980’s. Early in life, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother in Pack 244 in East Greenville. She delivered meals for the Meals-On-Wheels program. Catherine was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Pennsburg where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Perkiomen Chapter No. 318.

Surviving are children: Richard, of Pennsburg, Roger, and his wife, Petra, of Allentown, Ryan and his wife, Aricia, of East Greenville, and Mary Jane, and her husband, Christofer Templeton, of East Greenville; grandchildren: Blake and his wife Rachael Kuntz, Justin and his wife Kaitlyn, Felicia, and her husband, Michael Paul, Elliot and his wife Laura, Grant Templeton, Alexis Sloyer and Brandon Frederick and their baby soon to be born, and Lance Templeton; and great-grandchildren: Landon and Evan Kuntz, Gabriella Kaylene Paul. She was pre-deceased by an infant daughter, Betty Ann, and her siblings: Dorothy, Bill, Bob, Florence, Paul, Earl, Pearl, Cora, Charlie, Mildred, and Raymond. Catherine is survived by her sister-in-law, Donna Dietz.

Services will be on Saturday, December 17, 2022 with a viewing from 9 – 11 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM all at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 81 Main St., Pennsburg. She and her husband will be interred in Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a later date.
