Raised in East Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Bertha (Heimbach) Wiegner. Betty graduated as an RN from Temple University and received her master’s degree from Cedar Crest College. Following attaining her RN, Betty worked at Pottstown Hospital in maternity, and she worked for the Perkiomen School part time at that time as well. Following that, she worked as a school nurse for the Upper Perk School District for many years. During those years, she also served as a “community nurse” for the former Upper Perkiomen Community Nurse Agency. After "retiring" she worked as a nurse at Tri-Valley Primary Care in Pennsburg for several more years. Betty was also an accomplished pianist and organist. She served as church organist at New Goshenhoppen UCC and Pennsburg UCC and played for the ceremonies of the Eastern Star in the Upper Perkiomen Valley for many years. Following her retirement from Tri-Valley, Betty was the funeral home organist at Falk Funeral Home in Pennsburg. She was a member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church and a former member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ. Betty was also a volunteer and former board member of the Schwenkfelder Library in Pennsburg as well as a former member of the Red Hill Band.

She is survived by her son Roy and his wife Brenda of East Greenville; her granddaughters, Alicia, wife of Maison Longacre, and Kirsten, and her fiancée, Jim Davis; and her great grandchildren: Carter, Gavin, Corbin, Greyson, and Harper.

Services will be held privately. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery in East Greenville.
