Obituary

Beryl Simons, 85, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2019 at her home in Freemansburg, PA under the loving care of her family, caregivers and St. Luke’s Hospice services after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Beryl was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Beryl was born August 2, 1934 in Terry Township, Bradford County PA to the late Mason and Gladys Hibbard.
Beryl raised 8 beautiful children: Sharon, Linda, Cindy, Dale Penny, Beth, Tina and Rob whom she loved very much. Beryl enjoyed children, animals, music, dance, her expression of joy through her “happy feet” dance, ice cream, sewing, quilting, needlework and many other creative and crafty things. Beryl was always known to be sweet spirited and kind to everyone. She had a very calm, positive and caring disposition. She enjoyed attending the Adult Day services at Westminster Village in Allentown, PA. Alzheimer’s took many of her talents, hobbies and skills away. However it never robbed her of her sweet spirit and that beautiful smile or sparkle in her bright green eyes. She brought much love, joy and happiness to those around her even up until her last days.
Beryl was predeceased by her son, Dale Edward Vanderpool, her grandson Joshua Vanderpool, Her granddaughter Kelly and Renna Willever, her brothers Benjamin and Rexford Hibbard, and her sisters Alice Bortle, Peg Northrop, Marilyn Davis and Bernice Hibbard as well as her parents. She is survived by her sisters Ann Roy and Bonnie Brown, her son Robert Simons, her daughters Mrs. Sharon Hadly, Mrs. Richard (Linda) Beach, Mrs. Keith (Cindy) Willever, Mrs. Penny Stilson, Mrs. Elizabeth Werner and Mrs. Tina Jancovic. Along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren whom she adored and other family members. Beryl resided with her daughter Cindy and son-in-law Keith. She brought so much joy in the years spent with them.
There will be no formal presentation, a celebration of life will be held. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Adult Day Services at Westminster Village, 2156 Hanover Avenue, Allentown, PA 18109. Beryl had a vibrant, loving, caring heart with such a great smile that was infectious. The hugs she gave melted your sorrows away. We were privileged to share her life though, a short time but it was worth it. We looked forward to Beryl coming to the Day Program especially on the days we had themed days; when we had to wear themed outfits or costumes, we knew she won't disappoint. We thank the family for sharing and entrusting us with their mother's care. It was a great privilege and honor to have her at our day program. She is now celebrating with the angles in heaven. RIP

She suffers no more pain. She is finally at peace. You were chosen by God to be your children’s mother.
