Obituary for Barbara Ettinger (Glase)
Barbara Ettinger, 79, of Pennsburg and formerly of Red Hill, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 14, 2020. She was the wife of the late Richard C. Ettinger. Born in Lower Macungie, she was a daughter of the late Florence (Miller) and Edwin Glase Sr.
She was a member of Pennsburg UCC where she served as a Sunday School teacher and on the consistory. She and her husband owned and operated restaurants in Pennsburg and Coopersburg for several years. She worked at Pennsburg Manor and was a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid for 25 years. Above all, she was a loving, dedicated, selfless caregiver to family, friends, neighbors, and anyone in need.
Surviving are her daughters: Debrah, wife of Darryl Nester of Pennsburg, Rebecca, wife of Scott Scheiry of Barto, and Beth, wife of Barry Burton of Philadelphia; a son Ben and his wife Michelle of Nashville, TN; her grandchildren: Bobbie, Christie, Rachael, Adam, Hannah, Kyle, Mackenzie, Aja, Indigo, Ayana, Brady, and Kara; and her great grandchildren: Jacob, Noah, Gabe, Olivia, Emily, Savannah, Nora, and Nolan. Along with her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings: Edwin Glase Jr., Charles Glase, Richard Glase, Carl Glase, Jean Hunsicker, and Doris Glase.
At her request, services will be held privately. She will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Trexlertown.
