Obituary for Arthur Finley Nevin

Arthur Finley Nevin age 90, of Quakertown, passed away April 19th, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Gladys (Uhl) Nevin. Born in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of Arthur and Reita (Lambert) Nevin. Arthur served in the military for 12 years in 4 branches, Navy, Marines Corps, Air Force and the National Guard. During his service he and Gladys became interested in the art and antique markets and opened an art gallery and antique shop on 309 in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. They have maintained the gallery and frame shop for 50 years. During these years Arthur began the Nevin workshop, teaching other artists etchings. This was when he began creating his own artwork, making etchings of his collection of duck decoys. He became a prominent artist in his 50’s and 60’s selling his work nationally and internationally while teaching his children the trade. The Nevin Gallery is still run by his wife Gladys, their life’s passion and love of the arts.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Reita, and her husband Dave, David and his wife Kara, Bobby and his marriage partner Harold, Laura and her husband Rob, Edward and his wife Jennifer, and Nancy and her husband Richard.
