Arlene Elizabeth Marks, 91, of East Greenville, went home to be with her Lord unexpectedly and peacefully on January 25, 2021. Born in Vera Cruz, she was the daughter of the late Daniel C. and Elva M. (Yeakel) Schell. She was the beloved widow of the late Melvin Henry Marks who passed on January 24, 1992. Arlene graduated from Emmaus High School in 1947, and went on to Montgomery Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1950. She worked many years as an RN in the Maternity and Obstetrics departments. First for Montgomery Hospital then Allentown Hospital in the 1950’s, and then became a private nurse for her family. She volunteered for Mobile Blood Donations and was a substitute for the Perkiomen School.

Arlene was a long time member of the Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zionsville, where she served primarily as a Sunday School Teacher and in the Church Choir. She was known for the love of the scriptures, the people, and she always desired to share the love of Christ and the Gospel message with others. Additionally, she was a current long-time board member for the Union School and Church Association (Dillingersville Schoolhouse).

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Ann Marks, with whom she resided, her sister Annie, wife of Robert Souder of Vera Cruz, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her brothers: Carl and Albert Schell.

As per her wishes, there will be a private graveside service at Zions Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.
