Alice Dorothy “Dorrie” Greger, 61, of Red Hill, passed away September 12, 2020. She was the widow of Steven Allen Greger. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Rosalie Marie (James) Shoemaker, of Danville; and the late LeRoy Parks Shoemaker. Dorrie was a 1976 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School. She enjoyed a career as a computer programmer at Harleysville Insurance for 27 years. Dorrie had a knack for floral arranging and she loved cooking and baking enough to feed the entire neighborhood. When she wasn't in the kitchen, she could also be found enjoying the Philadelphia Zoo, Cape May beach, Asher's Chocolate, or listening to live music, especially if it was the Manatees. Her greatest joy in life, however, was being Grandma D to her grandchildren, Arianna & Elijah.
Surviving with her mother and grandchildren, are children: Stephanie Greger, of Lansdale; Shelby, wife of Aaron Mathews, of Skippack; and Jake Greger, of Pennsburg; brothers: James Shoemaker, and his wife, Alison, of Perkiomenville; and Kenneth Shoemaker, and his wife, LuAnn, of Carolina, RI; a niece: Emily; and nephews: Dylan & David.
Due to the pandemic, memorial services will be private. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, is in charge of her arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Prevent Cancer Foundation at https://www.preventcancer.org/.
